Virginia & Michael

Last wedding for this year; and what a great wedding to finish it off!
The wedding was relaxed, elegant and even the predicted thunderstorms stayed away.

Virginia is having a moment before heading out with the girls.

The ceremony was held at the chapel at Michael's old school, Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview. Virgina has just arrived and is walking into the parlour with her Mum and bridesmaids.
If Michael was nervous he didn't show it, and the priest was giving Michael a running commentary as to what was happening outside. And in all fairness, Virginia was only a couple of minutes late.
Following the ceremony we went back to the parlour to regroup and take a couple of group shots.

Some details, the work on Virginia's dress was gorgeous and I love those flowers. All very elegant.

Riverview College has it's own jetty, from there we cought a water taxi to Circular Key. From here we walked to the Museum of Contemporary Arts, stopping occasionally for some photos. As always, I am looking for unusual angles and non-boring images :-)

The reception was held at the Museum of Contemporary Arts at Circular Key.

Happy New Year everyone!

Mary & Mark's wedding in The Rocks

This wedding was all about The Rocks, from the 2 Hotels where Mary and Mark were getting ready, St. Patrick's Church and finally the reception at the Harbour View Hotel right under the Bridge.

Corsages going on, almost got it right first go.

Looking down at the congregation at St. Patricks church, one of the most beautiful churches in Sydney with its characteristic double isle.
I decided to shoot through the banister rather than over the top cause I think the shape is so representative of the character of this old church.

We took some shots along the way as we wound our way back through The Rocks to the Harbour View Hotel.

I love the little Waratahs in the boys corsages and check out Mary's dress! I think coloured wedding dresses rock!

Walking up to the Harbour View Hotel, where the guests were enjoying the amazing views form the balcony.

Trish & Steve

Trish and Steve got married at a chapel overlooking Colleroy and the Beach. It was a gorgeous day so later we went down to the beach for some shots.
Trish and Steve were totally relaxed so we got some great images on the beach and the point overlooking the beach.

Jenny & Andrew

Jenny was getting ready in the coolest hotel room at the Ravesi Hotel across the road from Bondi Beach. It was such a cool location so we ended up with heaps of images in the room and terrace.

The ceremony was at the Lion Gate Lodge in the Botanical Gardens, it threaten to rain but fortunately there was an undercover option.

The view from the room terrace looking straight out over Bondi.

Funky chairs + cool bride = excellent photo.

Jenny gets the award for funkiest wedding shoes of the year.

After the ceremony we took the huge stretch Caddy and rolled down the hill to Lady Macquarie's Chair for some photos.
It's a great location, but be aware of the bus loads of tourists armed with cameras and a fetish for photographing brides. I can't quite wrap my head around what they are going to do with the images....

One thing we always strive to capture throughout the day are the emotions of everyone involved; but especially at the reception and speeches. Here is a quick collections of Jenny & Andrew's expressions. I think they were having fun.

Danielle & Daniel

It's been a funny sort of summer, I can't remember shooting this many rainy weddings in any previous summer.
Times like this I am glad we use the best gear, cause this time our equipment was virtually swimming out of our hands :-)

Danielle and Daniel were great about it despite the fact that it was an outdoor ceremony at the Rotunda at Balmoral Beach.

Just remember you can't change the weather, so don't stress about it, and rain on your wedding day is supposed to bring you luck or so they say...

Getting ready is a very stressful time for blokes; between watching Cricket trying to figure out the strap thinghy at the back of the waistcoat, cuff links and don't even talk to me about flowers, I mean do they go on the left side or the right, facing up or down, do you put them through the actual button hole or just shove the pin in as hard as you can?? And the girls thought they had it hard...

The day started great, but eventually the rain set in, fortunately Daniel's enthusiasm made up for the weather.

For the record, the Rotunda at Balmoral fits 90 guests, a quartet, 2 photographers, a celebrant and a bride and groom.

Danielle looks absolutely gorgeous.

The wedding reception took place at The Sebel Pier One, so we went for some photo opps around Walsh Bay.

I love storm clouds and the reflections off the pavement after a downpour. Next time though I prefer not to have a downpour right in the middle of the ceremony :-)
