Nadia & Michael- October 13th

Nadia & Michael booked us just 10 days before their wedding. They broke our record for the closest to their wedding date that anyone has ever booked us :)

Nadia with her Mum and bridesmaid about to leave home.
They got married at St Patrick's Catholic Church in the city.

Diana & Nick- October 7th

Diana and Nick's big fat Macedonian wedding!

Actually it was our first Macedonian wedding and we couldn't have wished for a nicer couple than Diana and Nick.
The day was fast and furious and involved dancing pretty much the whole time.

Diana looked stunning in her Alex Perry dress and matching earrings. And Nick scrubbed up all right too.
The party started at 8am at both Nick and Diana's houses, so Kate and I split up to cover the dancing, eating, drinking, partying and getting ready at each house. After that we met up at the Macedonian church.
With the ceremony concluded the guests and family headed to the Opera House for family photos with Nick and Diana.
And finally we went the city and The Rocks for some locations shots before heading back to the Opera House to jump on board of the Sydney Glass Island for the reception.

At Nicks house the groom gets a traditional close shave with an axe. I am not sure he is enjoying it too much.
The morning is spent dancing, eating and catching up with family.
Diana is all class in her Alex Perry dress and earrings and one of my fav shoe designers (as much as any guy can like a shoe designer) Loriblu.
At the church, Nick lifts the veil.

after the church, they are heading out to the Opera House.
Some formals in the city. I love this shot, it's like angels wings.
Diana and Nick are so into each other and so cute together.
I like to get away from the usual spots and often end up in alley ways.
Nick and the boys.
Diana and her girls, they all look gorgeous.
After the shoot we headed towards the reception. I was sitting in the front of the car and got this shot of them going crazy :-)
OK, I told them to go crazy.
The reception wasn't just your usual formal sitdown and speeches reception. The dancing went on almost non stop. I seriously don't know how they managed it. I was tired just watching them.
and finally after saying their good byes to everyone we headed around the Opera House for some night shots.
These kind of shots have become a bit of a specialty of ours- low light, moody romantic shots.

Australia Post selected our images!!!

This is so cool
I am sure all you people in wedding-planning land know that Australia Post produces a Wedding stamp booklet as part of their "special occasions" philatelic range. Each booklet contains five stamp pages and 10 pages of text and illustration relating to the stamp theme, in this case weddings.

The market for these booklets is couples wanting to use relevantly themed stamps for their wedding invitations and thank you notes.

Well the scoop is that the next edition which is due out next year will feature our wedding pics on the 50c and $1 booklets.

This is a huge honor for us to have our images featured in the booklets. It obviously means we are doing something right to be recognized in such a way.

We asked Australia Post what it is about our images that made them suitable for publication.
Hilary from the Philatelic group replied:

As for why Australia Post chose your images, it is because your approach is
fresh, stylish and engaging, and you capture some superbly candid moments.
While technically and compositionally the photographs are stunning, you also
read your subjects well and use their actions and the environment to
illuminate their particular style and character.

So there you have it; we are ecstatic and honored, humbled and overjoyed by her kind words.

Most of all we are grateful to our brides who trust us and let us capture great images on their wedding day.

Here are some of the pictures that will appear on the booklets.

Eva & Joe - October 5th

Totally glamorous and fun wedding.
Eva is the glamorous one and Joe is the funny one.

Eva looked totally glam in her gorgeous Sarah Devine dress and her Rene Caovilla shoes.
It was a perfect Sydney spring day. We started the day covering Joe and his groomsmen getting ready. After that we headed over to Eva's place where the pace was more frantic with Eva and her 4 bridesmaids getting ready as well as 2 emotional parents, overseas family and 5 pugs!

The ceremony was held at Joe's old school Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview.

For the location shoot we took advantage of the great weather and stopped at the Cliffs above Harboard and Freshwater Beach which is also where the reception was held.
Reception: Pilu at Freshwater

During the shoot we kept if casual and relaxed and Eva still managed to pull off that glamorous windswept look. All the while Joe was trying to hog the limelight. I guess he was practicing for his speech later, which by the way had to be cut short by the MC's after 30 mins. Joe loves attention, yeah, we love you too Joe.

Here are some pics.
Joe and his buddies just couldn't figure out the Windsor knot. But they are not the first who spend hours doing and undoing ties, So from now on I am going to keep a copy of this illustration in my camera bag.
