Siam & Andrew - 8th March 2008

Siam & Andrew's wedding was such a blast.
We started out with 2 tea ceremonies, games followed by a beautiful ceremony at Observatory Hill.

Noodles did the honours of being the page dog and promptly lost the rings while chewing the pillow. The rings were quickly recovered and the ceremony went ahead.

Following the ceremony we completed the family photos and did some photos around Observatory Hill before heading out to do some more location photos.

The location shoot was awesome, Siam and Andrew are such naturals in front of the camera and we took full advantage of it and the locations.

We ended up at the Chinese Palace Restaurant for the reception and a 10 course meal.

Heather & David - 29th February 2008

It's a leap year wedding!
I guess David won't have any trouble remembering his wedding anniversary :-)
It was one of those days that started out looking a bit miserable but quickly turned into a glorious sunny day.

Heather and David got married at St Mark's Church, Darling Point. It's a beautiful sandstone church with so much character. For the location photos we headed to Mc Kell park down the road.
The reception was held at the Royal Sydney Golf Club at Rosebay. The room looks gorgeous, especially with all the candles creating a cozy atmosphere.

Trash the Dress Fiji - the video

Wow, this is the video that almost never happened.

When Kate and I flew to Fiji to photograph Ileana & Paul's wedding we had no intention of shooting some video footage. We literally bought the video camera at the airport duty free shop for family purposes and we have absolutely no experience shooting video.

We shot the wedding which was amazing in itself, previous blog entry.

The next day we headed to the island across from the resort to shoot the trash the dress session. We took our video cam along just to play around really and shoot ourselves shooting. In the end we didn't take much footage as Kate and I both were so into the shoot that we hardly picked up the cam.

After reviewing the footage we realized that while we may be über photographers, sadly we really suck at video. At the same time we wanted a way to replay the fun we had on the day.

So we approached Troy from Encore Media one of the videographers we recommend to our brides for weddings and asked him what he could do for us. He obviously liked a challenge and managed to merge some of the footage with our images to create a decent show.

A huge thanks to Ileana and Paul for trusting us to shoot their amazing wedding and letting us do our thing at the trash the dress session.

and a big thanks to Troy from Encore Media for using his über video post production skills to make the video what it is.

Leah & Andrew - 23 February 2008

This is a wedding we have really been looking forward to.
Leah and Andrew are just so relaxed and super nice.

The other thing that made this a special wedding is that her Dad was not just going to walk her down the aisle and give her away, but since he is also a minister he was actually going to marry them!

And of course it was cool to see 2 of our previous couples Sarah & Colin and Sarah & Chris at the wedding.

The dresses hanging up. If you look closely you can see Dad in the mirror.
Leah looks stunning and she kept smiling all day.
Andrew waiting at St John's Darlinghurst for Leah to arrive.
Leah and her Dad about to walk down to aisle. Dad gives the ok.
The exchange of the vows. Fortunately Leah said YES.

After the ceremony we headed to some of the backstreets and alleys of Darlinghurst to get some funky photos. Andrew is getting cought up in Leah's veil.

The whole bridal party.
Just playing with some flare. Most photographers avoid flare like the plague and we used to as well, but we have learned to use it to our advantage to create some cool images.

Finally our 3 couples Colin & Sarah, Andrew & Leah, Chris & Sarah.
