Kerry & Frank

Today's wedding was in the Blue Mountains at a beautiful private home. Kerry had the most amazing orange dress that had been designed by the same designer that made all the clothes for Nicole Kidman for Moulin Rouge! The ceremony was held in the gardens showing off Spring in the Mountains to its full glory! It was such a relaxed fun day with loads of family & friends enjoying amazing hospitality.

The value of 2 photographers

Chris and I often get asked how do we work together on a wedding day. I guess working as a husband & wife team makes us a bit different. Normally with 2 photographers you have a primary shooter and a second shooter, but because Chris and I are both photographers in our own right we are both primary shooters. We work around each other capturing different perspectives, different moments in own individual style. Because we know each others style we are always looking for a different angle or a different perspective.

I wanted to post a few pictures to show you how even standing less than a meter apart we are able to capture 2 totally different images.

1) Stefanie arriving at the chruch. I was capturing the more traditional shot of her arriving at church.

Chris had seen the reflection of her Dad on the car.

2) We had a great time having some time alone with Christine & Huw. Chris's shot was in close.

I was shooting for a wider angle to capture the door behind them

3) Chris using the line of the fence

And using a wider angle to capture more of the scene

Christine & Huw

When Christine and Huw came to us, they had all but given up on the idea of getting a photographer at all. Family told her of other photographer horror stories and all the photographers they had seen before us were just average. They walked in with few expectations. After seeing our work and a good chat they left with a few more photographers to see. When Christine called to book us she told us that Huw thought I was the kinda guy he could relax and have a beer with.
Well you are not wrong, and you never know when you you need to have a beer with your photographer, as you see in the photos below.

We got some really great photos, and for someone that has a phobia of the camera Christine managed to put it on all right.

I think you guys look awesome, and you gave us plenty of opportunites to push our creativity on your wedding day.

getting ready ... can't wait for Huw's reaction when he sees Christine for the first time...

Always one of my favourite moments, when the groom first sees the bride walking down the aisle.

OK, what are the chances of walking past a pub and not going in when half the bridal party is welsh....yeah, it's a retorical question :-)

This was at the "Hero of Waterloo" in the Rocks, excellent place, nice moody light and the locals were good sport.

mmmm, beer!

Some pics walking through the rocks

I don't know what that is :-)

Andrew & Haimee

This day will probably known as the day that the drought in Sydney broke...
It rained, let me rephrase this, it bucketed down all day non stop.

Full credit to Andrew and Haimee, they never stopped smiling :-)

I am so glad this wasn't an outdoor ceremony.

So where do you go for photos, well the church for starters...Then find a trendy pub

yellow pool tables are optional

And when it stops raining for 10 mins you dash into the alley at the back of the pub, between the bottleshop and the bins. Hey beauty can be found anywhere, actually back alleys are now my favourite photo location :-)
