Aria & Russell

Rain? so what!
It's been raining all week in Sydney, and while we all know that we desperately need the rain to fill the dams, it's really not what you want to wake up to on your wedding day.

So kudos to Aria, who remained calm and collected and we managed to have heaps of fun.

The skies cleared in time for the outdoor ceremony at Elkington Park in Balmain.
For the location shoot we wandered around Balmain; as Aria and Russell have a love for weird art (what does that say about us?) we stopped in at the Watchhouse Art Gallery for some images. The Watchhouse is an old sandstone building from 1854 which served as a police lockup for what was arguably one of the roughest neighbourhoods in Sydney at the time. How times have changed!

Walking down the street we came across this hot pink wall and had some fun. Nice change from the grey skies.
I love the fact that their sense of fun is obvious in the images.
While the rainbow was a nice touch in the sky, the next wave of rainclouds was ominously rolling towards us.
The rainclouds just hit, while I was sort of under cover I sent Aria and Russell out into the rain. "Trust me the images will be worth it".
We had quite a bit of time left before we were due at the reception so we hit the London Pub in Balmain.
The rain had well and truly set in by now and beer & chips seemed like a really good idea.
The reception was held on The Pontoon a floating reception centre in keeping with the water theme for the day.
Aria and Russell's first dance.
The live music was provided by Oscar Jimenez and his band. They were playing some cool Latin funk. Check them out at www.myspace.com/watussimusic

Chris & Kate have definately exceeded our expectations. After receiving a text in Borneo only two days after the wedding, we've rushed to the nearest internet to find some amazing photos and weird art!
Thanks for capturing our essence.
