WEBSITE IS BACK

Our website is back online.
Unfortunately, the site was restored from an old backup that only included our old site. We worked together with our web developers to re install the new site from scratch, lucky it was pretty straight forward, but a lot of the site content, especially the portrait site had to be uploaded all over again.

We also lost some of our recent wedding and e-session slideshows. We'll keep working on restoring those soon.

And the email is back again, so we are now responding to the backlog of emails, please bear with us :-)

So if you have a website, make a backup, especially if you make any major changes to your site :) Don't rely on your hosting company to do it for you.

WEBSITE IS DOWN

Our main website www.uberphotography.com.au is currently down.

The server of our hosting company had a major meltdown i.e. disk failure, as well as a raid array failure.

They are currently in the process of rebuilding all the users but this will take some time, since they are doing this alphabetically we will be one of the last ones :-(

We are hoping that by the end of today the site will be available again. We are not sure yet if they will be able to restore our latest site, or if the backups will grab our sold site.

As a consequence of this problem we are also unable to receive any emails, if you have sent an email please bear with us until we receive them all and have a chance to reply to them all.

If you need to get in touch with us urgently don't hesitate to contact us on 02 9402 5217.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Katherine & Steve

Katherine and Steve are so cool, that I knew this was going to be an especially cool wedding. Let's face it, how many people employ a wedding coordinator to plan and design a wedding down to the last detail.

Steve and the guys are getting ready at his place.

Wow, Katherine looks absolutely stunning; love the birdcage veil and dress.
The weather had been getting progressively worse all day. With the ceremony planned outdoors at Blues Point it wasn't looking good.
When Katherine got out of the car it was only sprinkling, but as the bridal party prepared to walk towards the point where the ceremony was to take place the wind picked up and the heavens opened.

At least Katherine is still laughing as she and her Dad struggle to control the umbrella. A minute later we all ran towards the lobby of Blues Point Tower to get out of the rain.

Let's spare a moments thought for the guests and groomsmen who got pelted with no shelter around.
Kate who was with the groomsmen also got soaked along with our gear. This is when you really really appreciate the fact that our pro Nikon cameras are weather sealed, cause they were soaked!
A big thank you to the 2 ladies on the first floor of Blues Point Tower who let Katherine and the girls into their flat to dry off. Unfortunately, at this point the rain had really settled in. It was disappointing for Katherine but she didn't let it show. While we were drying off it was decided to have the ceremony at the reception venue, Doltone House. This meant that we had 1.5 hours to kill. It also meant that we wouldn't get any location shots. So, we decided to go the city to meet up with Steven and the guys at a Hotel and have some photos there. Not exactly following tradition, but sometimes you have to adapt and make the best out of a situation.

The image below captured the moment when Katherine and Steven first met up in the lobby of the Intercontinental Hotel. It was a beautiful emotional moment.
We ended up taking some photos with the bridal party here, as we didn't know if the weather would improve later.
Full credit to Doltone House who quickly set up for a ceremony. Here is a shot from the loft as they are exchanging vows.

Man, that's an awesome dress, so elegant and unique, very '40 which was the overall theme of the wedding.
The rain stopped and girls just wanna have fun.

Katherine and Steve are so into photography and gave us every opportunity to get creative. I love these moody shots.

What a day, we were all exhausted, but it was a good feeling. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous and there was so much emotion and good mojo.

Stay posted for the slideshow, cause there are so many more awesome pics to come...

PS.: Just found this gem and had to post it.

Katrina & Adrian

After the excellent e-session we had with Kat and Adrian, I knew the wedding would be fun and relaxed.

Some initial jitters were quickly cured with some sparkly and after that it was fun fun fun.

Well, make of this image what you will.

This image doesn't do the cat any justice, he is a huge fluffy pillow of a cat, and very much part of the family.

Katrina chilling before going down to the ceremony.

It was a late afternoon ceremony, so afterwards we quickly headed to Lane Cove shops while the light lasted to take some pics.
The light didn't last very long, and it started to rain, so headed to a parking garage for some inspiration.

Looking for some light we found that one of the shoppers was sitting in his car opposite an empty car spot, probably waiting for the wife to finish shopping. Anyway, he obliged us by turning on his high beams to light up Katrina and Adrian.
Working with different light sources is always a challenge, but can be fun and rewarding.

AIPP awards, Yay!

The NSW AIPP awards night is always a hotly contented competition. There is just so much talent in this organisation of professional photographers it's scary.

So it was a thrill as well as a humbling experience to receive 1 silver distinction and 3 silver awards in the Wedding Category.
It's humbling cause Australian photographers are amongst the best in the world; ok we are THE best in the world.

The work presented tonight by all was truly amazing and the judges who assessed the prints are photographers you read about and I have admired for years.

Best of all our clients are the real winners, cause as photographers we keep pushing ourselves creatively to produce better and funkier images every time!

Monika & Mat

Monika and her sister putting on the finishing touches.
Monika walking down the aisle; the windows in the church provide some dramatic light.
After the ceremony we headed to the city for some photos, on the way we stopped at Northbridge for some pics.
Lady Macquarie's chair is always a favorite for photos. Here we worked to create a dramatic silhouette to show off the clouds. Her pose is so elegant with the veil blowing behind her.
Walking towards the Waterfront, where the reception was held.

Cheers, Chris

Mel & Pete

Mel and Pete got married at The Vintage, a Greg Norman designed golf course in the middle of Australia's best wine country; sounds like a marriage made in heaven!

I was really looking forward to this wedding as it's great to get away from Sydney every now and then.

Mel is looking gorgeous.

The boys are getting ready, kinda. Pete and his mates spent 1 week before the wedding at the Vintage, getting stuff ready and working on their handycaps.

Truly a unique setting for the ceremony

After the ceremony we took a spin in the golf buggies around the course, stopping for photos and Champagne.
PS, I still prefer my Golf, VW that is :-)

The 7th tee, where the fairway meets the sky.

I love the bridesmaids dresses, the burnt orange colour is just perfect for a vinyard or golf course.

Feeling a bit silly, skipping through the rows of grapes.
